Raul has been involved in Industrial Safety for over 18 years. His background includes work in the insurance industry as a loss control consultant as well as the private sector holding safety director and risk manager positions in the solid waste industry. His has vast experience with the Construction, Petrochemical and Solid Waste Industry. He has been active in providing bilingual Safety Education and Loss Control Services to various companies since 1991. Raul has been a team player of Safety Research Consultants since February 2009 and enjoys the various opportunities to educate end apply his expertise. |

Richard has been in the criminal justice system for 34 years, at both the federal and county levels. He is currently a Supervisory Criminal Investigator with Los Angeles County, and he is the training supervisor for new investigators. Richard is also on the department's Investigator Training Committee. He has also been an industrial accident investigator for a five year period and has been a Defensive Driving Instructor for three years. Richard earned two law degrees, B.S. in Law and J.D., from Western State University, Fullerton, CA. |

A trainer committed to safety with 28 years of Law Enforcement experience including a 22 year career in training and teaching. Dan began his career as a Reserve Deputy Sheriff and worked his way up the chain of command to that of the elected position of Sheriff for the Josephine County Sheriff's Office in Grants Pass, Oregon. Dan holds all DPSST certificates that Oregon provides with the last one being the Executive Certificate. Dan is a graduate of the Oregon Command College, the National Sheriffs Academy, and the National FBI Academy. Dan is a certified instructor and has taught law Enforcement related classes at the Oregon Police Academy and Rogue Community College. Dan was instrumental in the development of the Citizens' Police Academy and taught many of the classes. Dan was appointed to the position of Superintendent of the Rogue Valley Youth Correctional Facility in Grants Pass. With his diverse background, Dan was asked to lead the Safety Committee for both the facility as well as the Oregon Youth Authority Safety Committee.
Dan is a people person and enjoys teaching and it is reflected in his unique teaching style that involves his students. |

| Tim Coffey |

Tim Coffey has worked in Law Enforcement 15 years for two different agencies. He has worked in both Patrol and Traffic Divisions including collateral duties. During his time in patrol he was certified by Police Officers Standard and Training as a Training Officer for newly hired officers. While assigned to the Traffic Division he worked as a DUI officer making in excess of 500 DUI arrests, spent 3.5 years as a Traffic Accident Investigator and subsequently received a commendation for his work on a multiple fatality collision. Currently, Tim is assigned as one of two full time Commercial Enforcement/Vehicle Safety Officers within his department. This assignment required him to attend an 80 hour school which was both classroom and hands on. Tim is both a member of the Crisis Negotiation Team and the South Bay Platoon. He is an intra agency instructor teaching Weapons of Mass Destruction/First Responder Operations to officers in his agency.
Tim has a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University Sonoma, in Criminal Justice. Tim has in received in excess of 1100 hours of advanced/specialized training after graduating from Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Academy. Tim currently holds his basic, intermediate and advance certificates from Police Officers Standard and Training.
In his spare time Tim enjoys fly fishing and is an avid car enthusiast. |

Dave is a 31 year veteran of law enforcement. He retired in December 2007 from the Anaheim Police Department in Anaheim, California. During his career he worked as a Patrol Officer, Detective, Special Operations Investigator and Motorcycle Officer. Dave was active as a Training Officer, first training new Officers to the Department, and then training Traffic Officers to ride motorcycles for enforcement purposes. Additionally, Dave has served as a Tactical Officer with the Orange County Sheriff's Academy, and taught Traffic Safety to the Orange County Sheriff’s Recertification Academy.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration from Biscayne College in Miami, Florida and has graduated from numerous specialized training courses presented by the California Commission on Peace Officers' Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.). |

Antonio drove commercial trucks for 3 years. He has been in the vehicle inspection business for the past 8 years. He currently owns a business in Downtown Los Angeles. His business performs emission inspections, DMV Certifications, and salvage Title Releases. In addition he is a State Contractor, in which the State contracts his business to perform repairs on approved vehicles. Antonio holds ASC Certifications in three fields. He is currently training drivers for SRC, both in English and Spanish. |

Alan recently retired from Irvine Police Department after 30+ years in California law enforcement. His assignments included Patrol, Traffic, and Investigations. He served as Field Training Officer, CSI Officer, Lead DUI Enforcement officer, and Senior Investigator. He instructed officers in Standardized Field Sobriety Test, and was awarded the “MADD” Century award for DUI arrests in 2002. He is a certified instructor in Hazardous Materials/ First Responder, and Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings. He has investigated many commercial vehicle collisions, and has testified as an expert witness in civil and criminal courts. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree and has completed over 1500 hours of law enforcement training. Alan has taught drivers’ safety education to the commercial trucking industry since 1997. He quickly engages his students, using humor and empathy to put them at ease, and promote a stress-free learning environment. |

A California native, Greg entered law enforcement in 1977 with the El Segundo Police Dept., a suburban Los Angeles County agency. His assignments included Patrol, seven years as a Field Training Officer, Motorcycle Officer, U. S. Coast Guard Liaison, Field Supervisor and Acting Watch Commander. Greg has received specialized training in accident investigation, hazardous materials, commercial enforcement, supervision and municipal disaster management.
Now retired, Greg has returned to college to complete his graduate studies. |

Oscar O. Garcia retired from the Riverside County Sheriff's Office (California) in April 2006. Oscar retired with 23 years of service. Oscar spent 18 of those years working as an Accident Investigator. In his career, he has investigated over 4000 investigations. Oscar has testified in court as an expert in the areas of accident reconstruction, Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and/or drugs. Oscar retired as the lead accident investigator for his agency.
After retiring, Oscar relocated in St. George, Utah where he owns and operates Oscar O. Garcia & Associates, Collision Consultant & Accident Reconstruction. Oscar works directly with Personal Injury Law Firms re-investigating law enforcement traffic collision reports to determine if they were investigated properly and if the right party was found at fault. Oscar has been with Safety Research Consultants, Inc. since 2005. |

Tom is currently a part-time instructor for the Rancho Santiago Community College District after retiring with over 33 years of law enforcement experience with the Orange County (CA) Sheriff’s Department. In his last assignment, he was the supervisor at the department’s Tactical Training Center, one of POST’s 28 Regional Skills Training Centers in California. In the Training Division, he managed and supervised the instruction and training of over 3,000 officers per year in driving simulators, force option simulators, and force-on-force training in a scenario village. Tom has served as an FTO in both patrol and investigation, which has transitioned him to his role as a department instructor, giving him 27 years of classroom experience in such areas as constitutional law, homicide investigation, search warrants, informant handling and development, riot and crowd control, investigative resources, and surveillance. As an instructor, he creates a comfortable learning environment, interspersing his presentation with humor, and encouraging class participation.
After Tom earned a B.A. Degree in Criminology from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he graduated as the outstanding officer and the high academic award, from his Basic Academy, and has since successfully completed over 2,700 hours of specialized law enforcement training. His background and training have aided him in his many job assignments such as patrol, traffic, community relations, civil process, robbery, burglary, narcotics, vice, and homicide. Tom also spent 19 years as a member of the SWAT team with assignments in entry and as a sniper, and has been recognized by the State Legislature, the County Board of Supervisors, and the Sheriff’s Department for bravery and valor in the performance of his duties. |

Michael Hagen recently completed a 33 year career with a major Southern California metropolitan police department. He has 10 years experience in traffic collision investigation. He has investigated over 15,000 traffic collisions including commercial vehicle, hazardous materials and fatalities. Since 1980, Michael has actively enforced hazardous materials and hazardous waste highway transportation regulations. For the last 17 years, he has been assigned to a Hazardous Materials Unit whose duties included Weapons of Mass Destruction response, environmental crimes and Hazmat enforcement. He has a Bachelors of Arts degree and is a state certified Hazmat Specialist. Michael is a Hazmat instructor for the California Specialized Training Institute and the USDOT Transportation. |

Jim Holder is a 20 year veteran of law enforcement, who has focused on collision investigation and reconstruction during his career. He has served as a motor officer and collision investigator and currently operates his own company providing collision reconstruction and analysis services to the legal and insurance industries. Mr. Holder has worked commercial vehicle enforcement as well as investigating commercial vehicle collisions, and is an instructor in the Standardized Field Sobriety Test criteria. He is also experienced with the airbag modules currently installed in vehicles and with the burgeoning crop of red-light cameras being installed by many municipalities. |

Joe is a 29 year veteran of Southern California law enforcement, medically retiring in 1998. During his career he worked as a Patrol Officer, Swat Officer, a Traffic Accident Investigator, Field Training Officer, Motor Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Traffic Sergeant, Motor Sergeant, Investigative Sergeant, Communications Supervisor, Reserve Coordinator Supervisor and as supervisor training basic entry level police officers. Joe has investigated a number of fatal accidents and countless injury accidents, a number of which involved commercial vehicles and school busses. He has supervised details ranging from basic investigations to high profile crimes involving guns, money and interstate trafficking of stolen property. Joe has attended and graduated from numerous specialized training courses presented by (P.O.S.T.) the California Peace Officers Standards and Training, holding certificates from the Traffic Program Management Institute, Personnel Management, Advanced Police Management, Criminal Investigation Management, and Traffic Collision Investigation and is a certified Radar Instructor.
Joe also holds a California State Teaching Credential after spending a number of years as an instructor at the Golden West Basic and Reserve Academies. Joe is a ‘hands-on’ type of instructor; guiding students through difficult areas until they grasp the concept. He feels his ‘people skills’ are one of his most important attributes and enjoys passing on his knowledge to the class through examples or real life experiences.
Joe currently has his own private investigation company in North Carolina. The company specializes in international container theft, working closely with U.S. Customs and the U.S. Coast Guard. |

Lenny is a 15-year veteran of law enforcement, whose experience ranges from a small town in agricultural central California to metropolitan southern California. After a few years on the job, Lenny was drawn to the Traffic Bureau and spent 9 years as a motorcycle officer. During this time he specialized in red light enforcement programs and collision investigation. Lenny’s career path shifted in September 2005, when he turned his focus to commercial vehicle safety. He is now certified as a Commercial Officer/Haz-mat Inspector, and he teaches regulated and non-regulated commercial vehicle safety to law enforcement and industry personnel. Lenny is the type of instructor that combines extensive on-the-job experience with great energy and a sense of humor, qualities not often found in this industry. |

He is currently assigned to the Sheriff's Training and Resource Services Center in Whittier. His previous assignments include service at major Custody facilities, Several major Patrol stations, detective division/investigations, traffic enforcement and investigation, Advanced Officer training, Recruit Training, Emergency Vehicle Operations Training, and Use of Force/Defensive Tactics training. Roy Levario holds a Bachelors degree from UCLA and a Masters of Science degree from California State University at Long Beach. He is also a graduate of the West Point Leadership program. He has numerous years of teaching experience at the elementary, intermediate, high school, and college levels, law enforcement training and instruction at the department and state levels. |

Barry has been employed by the Texas Department of Public Safety for 24 years; with assignments as a Texas Highway Patrol Trooper and non-uniformed assignment as Sgt. working Narcotics enforcement. Barry has attained his Master Peace Officer Certificate through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education (TCLEOSE) as well as his TCLEOSE Instructors Certificate. As a Texas Highway Patrolman, Barry investigated hundreds of traffic collisions, including numerous fatality and serious bodily injury collisions. As a THP, Barry was a Certified Accident Reconstructionist. Barry has taught various courses for law enforcement academies in Texas, as well as, training narcotics investigators in various field specific courses related to narcotics investigations. Claude Nelson is a retired Police Officer/Detective from the Baltimore County Police Department with over 30 years of service. His law enforcement background includes patrol officer and traffic enforcement, child abuse/criminal investigations, and academic instructor. Claude obtained his Police Instructor Certification in 1986, as well as certification as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Instructor. He was certified in 1989 for "Train the Trainer." Claude was assigned to the Maryland Police & Correctional Training Commissions in 1995 as a program coordinator and police instructor. He retired from Baltimore County in 2003 to accept his current position with the Training Commissions as Maryland D.A.R.E. Training Coordinator, Program Administrator, and Instructor. Claude routinely consults and trains for D.A.R.E. America and D.A.R.E. International. |

His past assignments include bicycle patrol, SWAT, narcotics, firearms instructor and field training officer. Chris is a court certified expert in determining persons under the influence of a controlled substance. He has taught classes for the citizen's academy and provided periods of instruction in the field of narcotics, active shooter/entry techniques and surveillance driving. He has investigated hundreds of traffic collisions and currently possesses a commercial driver's license. Chris has completed over 500 hours of POST certified courses and he currently holds a Bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership. |

Steve retired after 11 years as a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Deputy. He worked in patrol, traffic, and commercial vehicle enforcement. He is trained in Advanced Traffic Investigation and reconstruction. He has also received training from the California Highway Patrol and is certified in Commercial Vehicle Level 1 inspection. Steve also has 6 years experience behind the wheel as a Class "A", combination truck driver. He has driven 3 axle tractors in combination with 26 to 53 foot trailers including doubles. He currently enjoys retirement and is focusing most of his attention on raising his two beautiful young daughters. Steve enjoys working part time as an instructor for Safety Research Consultants Inc. and the ability it brings him in helping others in work safety. |

Aaron has 24 years of law enforcement experience. During this time he has worked as a Patrol Officer, Motorcycle Officer, and Commercial Officer, as well as worked in the Office of Dignitary Protection. Aaron is currently assigned to a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Facility where he inspects vehicles and enforces the laws relating to commercial vehicles and drivers. He has been certified as a Level I Inspector by the United States Department of Transportation. Sean is a retired Sergeant from Westminster P.D. in California. After working 5 years in patrol, he was re-assigned to a Motorcycle Traffic Officer. He was a member of the Departments Major Accident/Fatal investigation Team. He was also a member of the DUI team, and recorded 536 Drunk Driving arrests in a 3 year period. Sean is certified in Accident Reconstruction and Drug Abuse Recognition. After 6 1/2 years in the Traffic Division, Sean was promoted to Patrol Sergeant. Three years later he was promoted to Traffic Sergeant where he supervised both the Major Accident/Fatality and the DUI teams. He has testified as an expert in both Accident Reconstruction and Driving Under the Influence. Sean is currently teaching at Capistrano Valley High School. He teaches Law Enforcement, Construction Technology and has an additional Teaching Certificate in Physical Education and Health. |

Fidencio has been with SRC since November of 2004 and he really enjoys working with the drivers. |
