Alan recently retired from Irvine Police Department after 30+ years in California law enforcement. His assignments included Patrol, Traffic, and Investigations. He served as Field Training Officer, CSI Officer, Lead DUI Enforcement officer, and Senior Investigator. He instructed officers in Standardized Field Sobriety Test, and was awarded the “MADD” Century award for DUI arrests in 2002. He is a certified instructor in Hazardous Materials/ First Responder, and Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings. He has investigated many commercial vehicle collisions, and has testified as an expert witness in civil and criminal courts. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree and has completed over 1500 hours of law enforcement training. Alan has taught drivers’ safety education to the commercial trucking industry since 1997. He quickly engages his students, using humor and empathy to put them at ease, and promote a stress-free learning environment.
