SRC Instructor since 2006
Training professional with 31 years of Law Enforcement experience, combined with a 22-year history as a Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT) in an urban environment. Previously Jim lead a team of training instructors involved teaching in weapons expertise, Less Lethal Munitions, Tactics and officer survival techniques. He has completed a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.
Jim was an instructor in Emergency Vehicle Operations, and held 17 POST instructor certifications and over 1500 hours of advanced officer training. Jim has worked as a traffic officer and has written and investigated traffic collision reports. Jim has written and had gotten approval for 8 classes from California Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST). Although currently retired, Jim has been a training officer for the last 28 years and has been employed as an instructor for the Santa Ana College for over 25 years. Jim currently maintains a Commercial Drivers license for the state of California and is an instructor. In 1998 Jim received the Governors Award for Outstanding Training in the state.
