Claude Nelson is a retired Police Officer/Detective from the Baltimore County Police Department with over 30 years of service. His law enforcement background includes patrol officer and traffic enforcement, child abuse/criminal investigations, and academic instructor. Claude obtained his Police Instructor Certification in 1986, as well as certification as a Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Instructor. He was certified in 1989 for "Train the Trainer." Claude was assigned to the Maryland Police & Correctional Training Commissions in 1995 as a program coordinator and police instructor. He retired from Baltimore County in 2003 to accept his current position with the Training Commissions as Maryland D.A.R.E. Training Coordinator, Program Administrator, and Instructor. Claude routinely consults and trains for D.A.R.E. America and D.A.R.E. International.
